Reflection
We enjoy watching the lively activities of birds and insects in nature and how they play and enjoy themselves. We also observe that animals like to play and so we too love having fun with our pets. Playful activities appeal to us because they are lighthearted, demand exertion and consume time, especially when they become a serious engagement in sports. Sporting activities have a dimension of fun and leisure, but for athletics these also imply training, rules, cooperation, competition and striving for excellence. Sports require training, effort and rules. It also lifts us up to a superior realm of freedom - free and unfettered which makes us appreciate the beauty of human effort interacting with nature and transcends us spiritually.
